Mercedes-Benz R107

Specification:      1983 280sl R107

This magnificent example of the series presents itself in its original 568 Signal Red and unmarked  Black and Sports check interior. Complete with optional rear seats and belts. The service history is to behold with no less than 20 main dealer stamps consecutive all the way from April 1983 through to August 2017 confirming the milage now at a very attractive 76976 miles, although the condition of the car to be frank would lead you to believe it just rolled off the factory line. Two former owners. It is quite simply in stunning condition all round. It is complete with unopened first aid kit, warning triangle, tool kit, service book and owners manual. The soft top is as new.

The engine bay is totally original and in amazing condition. The soft top compartment is unmarked with no corrosion as is the compartment lid. The rear wheel wells, jacking points, boot area and spare wheel well are in beautiful condition too. We have treated the undercarriage and wheel wells to a new coat of paint so the undercarriage is now in keeping with the top side. We have checked all of the R107 problem areas especially the bulk head in and around the heater matrix and it is as new. There were signs that the car was subject to an extensive wax oiling after purchase and we have re-waxoiled all these areas to preserve the original state. Unfortunately the hard top did not have the same early treatment and was not in a matching state.  We have replaced the hard top with a new unit keeping all the chrome, glass  and head cloth from the original with the car. Due to the car being in its  iconic Signal Red livery we thought it very fitting to facelift the car. In doing so we have retro fitted the last of the series fully refurbished  15’’ 15 hole flat face alloys, front wing liners and front skirt thus giving the car the unmistakeable appearance of the last of the series.

Summery:  If you are looking for the best R107 you can get, this car will not disappoint.
